Lisa has been employed with the Regional Science & Discovery Center since May 2001. Lisa started as the Site Manger when the center was located at the Arnot Mall location. In 2006, SDC decided to change its direction and become solely an outreach program. At that time, Lisa became the Business Manager and a few years later, became the Deputy Director. In 2018, Lisa was promoted as the Executive Director. She graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a BS in Hospitality Management. Lisa’s background is in Human Resources Management.

Patricia Dann

Patricia took the concept of teaching the basic principles of science in an entertaining manner and translated it to an actual facility, as well as launching an outreach program. Her prior experience includes: Director of the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport, NY., President of the Corning-Painted Post Historical Society, member of the President’s Council of Elmira College, for eighteen years, owner, operator of a retail business and she completed seven, six-week  projects in underdeveloped countries for the International Executive Service Corp. She was on the board of the Corning Museum of Glass for 36 years and consulted with 9 small museums through the American Association for Museums (AAM) Assessment Program (MAP). She is a graduate of Simmons College in Boston, MA.

Christine Stull

Christine joined the SDC staff in 2010 as an elementary and middle school educator for grades K-8. Previously Christine served as a long-term substitute teacher for the Corning Painted Post School District.  Her responsibilities included creating original lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students grades K-12 and working collaboratively with all teachers. She is actively involved in community volunteer efforts. A graduate of Corning Community College with a degree in Science, Christine also completed undergraduate and graduate degrees in Childhood Education from Elmira College.

Cynthia Beecher

Cynthia joined the SDC staff in 2017 as a part-time Pre-K educator. Within a few months, Cynthia was offered a full-time position developing our Pre-K program. Previously, Cynthia served regionally as a Preschool / Pre K / After School teacher at Creative Kids Preschool and More, creating and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans for youth. Cynthia graduated from Corning Community College earning a degree in Liberal Arts. She then graduated with honors earning a bachelor’s degree from Niagara University.

Makenzie Witter

Makenzie joined the SDC staff in 2021 with a wealth of experience from working as the Education and Public Programs Manager at the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport. There, she concentrated on creating aviation, engineering, and other STEAM programming for schools and public events. She earned a Master of Arts in Museum Professions, with a focus in Education, from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor of Arts from Albright College.

Angela Rolland

Angela comes to us from the Horseheads School District where she started this school year as a substitute teacher for the middle and high school and then accepted a full-time position as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant. 

Angela also worked for the Watkins Glen School District for two years in various positions She was a daily building substitute for 7th-12th grades, a long-term Special Education substitute assisting classroom teachers with the 10th grade students who needed assistance. She taught English for 7th and 8th grade students enrolled in summer school. She also was a long-term Creative Writing Teacher for 11th and 12th grade students.

Angela has served as the Teen Program Coordinator at the RAF Lakenheath Youth Center Air Force base in England. She has also taught college level Public Speaking and various art classes.

She has a Master of Arts in English Literature from Mercy College, a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Public Relations from the University of West Florida.
